The Best Way To Plan A Disney World Vacation!

If you're looking to take a loved one, the family, or just yourself, to the Most Magical Place on Earth, there are more than a few things that you'll need to make sure you have in line before you make your trek. Whether you're looking to spend a short amount of time, or a full-week's vacation, the steps we'll outline in today's blog are sure to help you make the most out of your Disney World Vacation!

Everything You Need to Keep In Mind

There's a lot to keep in mind before you take your trip to Disney World, but there's also a lot for you to keep in mind while you're there. Read below for our tips and tricks to being as prepared as you can, how to get your dates set, and what to keep in mind while you're actually on the trip!

Preparation

Preparing for any trip can be so much fun, but it can also be very stressful. Rather than carry the stress with you up until the day you leave, if you prepare properly, you can avoid the unnecessary stress and focus on what really matters, enjoying your trip!

Things You Can Use to Prep

While you're preparing for your trip, there are several different things that you can do to make sure you're as stress-free as possible. Something that's always good to start with is getting your paperwork and ideas in order, and to make sure to file everything in one secure place. As you plan your hotel stay and your flights, get the necessary paperwork filed away in the exact same place, that way you always have access to everything you might need.

In addition to this, it's a great idea to keep notes of things you think about when you're planning. For example, an idea for a great dinner getaway might come to mind, and you won't want to forget something like that. So, write it down and file it along with the remaining paperwork you've got for your trip!

Things to Bring With You On The Trip

As important as it is to plan ahead of time, it's also super important to make sure you've got everything you need while you're gone. Start first by putting a list of items together while you're planning. From there, you can make whatever purchases you need to make prior to the trip so you've got everything packed. This could be items like sunscreen and ponchos for dealing with the weather, or aloe vera for after a long day in the sun.

There's an entirely different category of "things" to bring with you on your trip that you absolutely cannot forget...paperwork! Remember our plan to put everything in the same envelope? Well, that's your "Trip" envelope, and it should be one of the most important items in your luggage! Keep your envelope in your backpack when you're traveling from park to park, so no matter what's on the itinerary, you've got the paperwork to make sure you've got reservations or receipts to show.

Resources for Preparation

Sometimes you're in need of a little preparation assistance, and we totally understand that issue. Thankfully, there are great resources provided by Disney World that can make planning and accounting for specific trip items very easy. For instance, if you download the "Disney World" app from the app store, you can keep track of all of your Fast Pass+ information, reservations for dinner, and hotel information in one convenient place.

Additionally, we recommend getting the app for the airline that you're traveling on to make sure your boarding passes are always accessible while you're at the airport. Doing this has been so helpful on trips I've taken in the past, and it makes it so much less stressful when all you have to do is hold out your phone to scan the passes before going through security or stepping on the plane!

Dates

Getting your dates set can be stressful, but if you plan properly, you can swiftly make it through this step of the process and get to planning your itinerary for while you're there!

Disney World is very busy for much of the year, but there are times of the year that are not as busy as others. However, it's important to keep in mind that there is usually a reason for that. If you're planning on going during the less-busy summer months, be ready for the warmest time of the year at the Parks. Not only is it going to be very warm, but you'll probably be spending extra money on refreshments, and you may even have to take some breaks during the day to get out of the sun and humidity.

Conversely, if you're planning on going during the cooler winter months, you'll be heading to the Parks during the time of year that many other visitors are also planning on being there. If you do a good job of planning ahead with reservations for dinner and hotels, and you make sure to get your Fast Passes+. you won't have to worry about wait times as much as usual. However, you'll definitely notice that the Parks are packed while you're there. If you're not a super-comfortable-in-crowds type of person, we'd recommend finding another time to go. This is what leads us to our "Best Time To Go" advice.

In our opinion, there are a couple of months of the year that are better than others for visiting. February, April, and September. Here's why:

In February, you're not likely going to experience the uptick in crowds because, well, the kids just got back from Winter Vacation. Many families take their winter trips during December and January, so if you plan to go during the winter, consider February as the best month to go.

If you can't make February work, you can try to wait until spring. Unfortunately, there's another window of time in the spring that many students are out of school and are traveling with their families. Thankfully, most schools do Spring Break during March and not as late as April. So, if you're willing to wait an extra month, you can avoid the extra-heat that comes during the summer, and you can also avoid the larger crowds.

Finally, if you can't make winter or spring work, you can head down to the Parks in September. This is usually the month that the kiddos go back to school, so many families and students try to avoid taking a vacation during this month. Also, the temperatures during September are usually cooler than the summer months, and the humidity starts to die down somewhat. As a last resort, consider September as a good option for traveling.

The Trip

The trip itself should be all about fun! While you're on vacation, if you've done the proper preparations and made sure you're going at the right time of year, you can limit the stress while you're away. If you've made sure to download the Disney World app, you can pretty much access all of your trip plans from one secure place! This includes, as we mentioned, all of your dinner and hotel reservations, as well as your Fast Pass+ information. In addition, you can set up Fast Passes+ from the app, so once you've used one, you can set another one up for later in the day!

We hope you've found this to be a helpful guide for planning your trip. Although it isn't completely comprehensive, and there will be a lot more work than what's listed in the blog, if you use what we've got here as a rough guide, you can make sure to reduce stress while you're planning!

Hope you've enjoyed the blog! Stay Magical!

Upcoming 2019 Marvel Movies!

What Comes Next?

After the extremely positive reviews and raving fans following the release of Captain Marvel, we've reached a point in the Marvel Cinematic Univers (MCU) where we're not sure what lies ahead. Obviously, there are a few movies that we know will be released in the coming months, but what other films does Disney have in the works? In today's blog, we answer that question, and we share our opinion on which movies you should be most excited for! Without further ado, let's dive right in!

Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

© Marvel Studios
We have officially arrived at the end of an era. As unfortunate as this may feel, Avengers: Endgame promises to be an exceptional finale to an incredible run of films, dating back to the first installment of Iron Man. Although there have been a few bumps in the road along the way *cough* Thor 1 and 2 *cough*, there have also been some truly amazing movies that will be remembered and enjoyed for generations to come. The timely finish to this series of movies will hopefully open doors for future heroic adventures, with some new faces and some old, and will likely be a launching point for the careers of many young Marvel stars!

Excitement Rating: 9/10

Dark Phoenix (June 7th, 2019)

Whether you're a fan of the X-Men movies or not, Dark Phoenix is coming to a theater near you in just a few months. The previous X-Men release, Apocolypse, was really bad. Usually, we keep our negative opinions to ourselves, our mother's taught us better than to rag on things, but Apocolypse was seriously not good. At all. However, if there's a short list of positives to pull away from the movie, it was the character development of Cyclops and Phoenix. Set in the past, while the two were just students at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, we got a glimpse of the tumultuous relationship between the young characters. If Dark Phoenix is slated to be a deeper dive into the internal struggle that Phoenix experiences while she is growing up, this movie could very well be the revival that the X-Men need to revitalize the movie series. Let's hope we're right!

Spider-Man: Far From Home (July 5th, 2019)

Honestly, we were surprised by the first Tom Holland headlined Spider-Man movie. In retrospect, we shouldn't have been, partly because we'd already gotten a taste of how great he would be in Civil War, but also because it was the first foray into Spider-Man that included legitimate ties to the MCU. Regardless of our preconceived notions, Spider-Man: Homecoming proved to be a really excellent movie. Not only were the classic "Spidey" moments outstanding, but the goofiness and endearing nature of Tom Holland proved to be such an excellent combination. The most recent trailer for Far From Home reveals that Jake Gyllenhaal will be playing the antagonist, Mysterio, and we have much higher expectations for this film than the first.

The Best Disney Movies Still On Netflix!

We're all getting our budgets and T.V. time planned for the release of the Disney streaming app that'll be released by the end of 2019. In fact, if you haven't already, you'd better get on it! But Netflix, the World's most popular streaming service, still has a contract with Disney to host several of their movies on the platform. This time of year, there's really only one place that you can stream Disney movies whenever you'd like, and that's from the Netflix app. So, we decided to put together our list of the Best Disney Movies that are still on Netflix in order to help you take advantage of what's available while the contract is still active. This list will include some Live-Action movies, some Animated movies and many more! Use it to plan your next movie night with the family or your date! Keep in mind, Netflix changes their lineup every month so some of these movies might not be available after March passes. Make sure to keep up with Netflix's schedule so you don't miss your favorites! Without further ado, let's get started!

The Best Live-Action Disney Movies Still on Netflix

Whether it's a Live-Action remake, a reboot, or just a movie with an exclusively living cast, these are our picks for the Best Live-Action Disney Movies that are still on the Netflix platform. You might agree with some and disagree with others, so if that's the case, let us know your thoughts in the comments!

Christopher Robin

© Disney
Okay, so it wasn't the greatest movie ever, but it was very good! Christopher Robin tells the story of a fully-grown Christopher Robin takes a visit back to the Hundred Acre Wood with his lifelong pal Winnie the Pooh comes back to town. It's humorous, touching, and most of all, a Disney movie at its core. Also, as if it needed a boost of star-power, Jim Cummings reprises his roles as the voices of Pooh and Tigger. If you haven't seen it yet, now's your chance!

Saving Mr. Banks

Telling the story of two unlikely acquaintances, Saving Mr. Banks captures the back-and-forth between Walt Disney and P.L. Travers as Walt tries to work his "Magic" in being able to purchase the rights to her classic tale "Mary Poppins" to adapt it for the big screen. Much of the movie follows P.L. as she reflects on her life, and it's a truly amazing story that any Disney fan would enjoy.

Beauty and the Beast

This blockbuster Live-Action remake was truly a sight to behold. Upon its release, the World witnessed Emma Watson in one of the best roles of her young movie career and got an amazing display of CGI Magic with Beast as well as the other classic characters from the original animated movie. If you're a fan of the original, this re-imagined version is certainly a flick you'll love!

Bedtime Stories

© Disney
You might not be a fan of Adam Sandler's early work, or at least not find it to be appropriate enough for your kids, but Bedtime Stories is somewhat of a hidden gem in the realm of Disney films. Telling the story of a misguided Uncle that's expected to take care of his niece and nephew for a week while their mom is out of town, Bedtime Stories captures the wonder and curiosity of a child's creative mind while also sharing a few very powerful life lessons along the way. We mean it when we say this movie is a hidden gem; it does such a great job of entertaining that you almost wish there'd be a sequel in the works!

Secretariat

If you don't know the story of Secretariat, we're not going to spoil it for you. This movie became an instant classic upon its release, and it's definitely a film worth sitting down and watching with the family!

Miracle

© Disney
Okay, here's the deal. Along the lines of Disney movies, Miracle doesn't exactly fit the traditional structure. There's no Princes, no Princesses, and there isn't really a villain. However! By the nature of the historical event, it's definitely got some Disney Magic involved. If you're looking for an inspiring and wonderfully made Disney movie, look no further than this retelling of one of the most historic sports stories in American history.

The Best Animated Disney Movies Still on Netflix

Mulan

Need we say more than the title of the movie for you to know it's about time you watched Mulan again?

Coco

© Disney
Okay, we're criers here at Walt Life. We cry at sad stuff, happy stuff, even stuff that it doesn't really make sense to cry. Whatever! Who cares?! Not us! One thing is for certain, though, Coco is a HEAVE CRY movie. Few movies have brought me to such dramatic tears as this one. In fact, just small clips of the movie on YouTube manage to get me choked up. Again, no shame in crying, but if you're looking for a heartfelt story, Coco is the right movie for you.

Hercules

Looking to Go The Distance? We're always ready to watch our pal Herc on the big screen! If you need a laugh and some love, sit down for this classic Disney film and enjoy it from open to close.

Emperor's New Groove

Remember when we mentioned that Bedtime Stories was a hidden gem? So is this movie. If you haven't already seen it, we have a few questions. First, what have you been doing? Second, what have you been doing?! This is such a wonderful story, with really strong character arcs and a compelling message. A truly amazing movie with a star-studded cast that's sure to entertain the whole family.

Pocahontas

So, it's not historically accurate, and it doesn't do a great job of being honest about the truth of what happened during this time period. Even so, if the movie only included Colors of the Wind, it would still be a fan favorite. If you can look past the inaccuracies, there is a lot to love about this movie. The music is simply beautiful, and it'll get you and the entire family singing along!

Lilo and Stitch

Dog? Alien? Who cares! Stitch is one of the most loveable characters that Disney has ever created, and this sing-song movie does a wonderful job of sharing the intricacies of loneliness as it's thwarted away by making new friends. This movie is sure to make you smile!

There you have it! Sit down with a blankie and a bowl of popcorn before the month is over to enjoy these classic movies with the family, or by yourself. Either way, you're going to have a great time!
