5. Pirates of the Caribbean (the full series)

Okay, these movies were (and still are) so much fun. Whether you like Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, and Kierra Knightly or not, the theme of pirates and the jokes and silly things that go on in this series have always been something to enjoy. We couldn't pick our favorite of the bunch, so we felt we'd just include the entire series in our list. Do you agree?
4. Maleficent
Somehow, like they always do, Disney found a way to appeal to our sense of empathy again with this "old story told anew". Maleficent is expertly cast (Jolie is amazing) and it manages to actually tell the old story of Sleeping Beauty from a completely different perspective. While it's not our favorite, it certainly deserves a spot on this list and is absolutely a film for any true Disney fan. If you haven't had the chance to watch it, the weekend is right around the corner. Get on it!
3. Homeward Bound

Somewhat of a "sleeper pick", if you will, Homeward Bound captured our love for animals, comradery, and companionship with this all-time classic. The journey, as you may remember, begins with the Seavers heading out of town, and basically takes as many twists and turns as any story we can remember. But, the best part? It's almost entirely created with voiceover for the dogs. Obviously, CGI wasn't nearly as robust at that time, and no, they didn't find a way to match the mouths of the animals to the dialogue, but it was an amazing foray into live-action animal movies. It truly paved the way for so many films we've grown to love over the years, and it captured our hearts along the way.
2. Beauty and the Beast (2017)
So, this one is a bit of a tough-love kind of film. If you loved it, you LOVED it, and if you didn't, well, you DIDN'T. With that in mind, we LOVED it. Maybe it's because we love Emma Watson? Maybe it's because the soundtrack is really amazing? Maybe, just maybe, it's because it actually is an awesome film, and just happened to be preceded by (arguably) one of the best animated princess films of all time? Whatever the reason, this really was a great one, and we're happy it lands here in our top 5, even if some might disagree :).

1. Mary Poppins (1964)
If there's an "Undisputed Champion" of live-action movies, it's Mary Poppins. Quite frankly, it's not really even close, either. This movie combines wonder and beauty to create one of the most Disney Magic films of all time, not to mention it's absolutely timeless. For having been released in 1964, there really hasn't been a film to follow it that even holds a candle to the original Mary Poppins. There's nothing quite like the way this movie makes you feel, so it rightfully earns the very top spot on our list of 5 Best Live-Action Disney Movies.
